Metrics

We try to keep this process as objective as possible. To do that, we have quantified several variables that will ultimately help sponsors make objective job offers.

Here (opens in a new tab) you can see the general ranking and the metrics of most of the candidates who have passed through Autonomic Jump. If you click on any user, you can see more detailed metrics. Most of the metrics have a self-explanatory name and even a help bubble. Shall you have any doubt about either of those, please do not hesitate to contact your recruiter.

Dedication

It is very important for all parties to measure your hourly dedication to the process fairly. Please remember that we will pay¹ you per hour that you log into the system, independently of whether you uploaded any solution or not. This metric is internally known as total-hours. Only you and we will have access to it. It is not a public one.

We will measure your dedication through time-tracking software. It is very important that you log all the time you are dedicated to our process, be it: reading documentation, installing software, learning commands, watching videos that will help you to solve a challenge, solving challenges, making changes to be able to upload the challenge, and so on.

Unique Solutions

Each challenge is contained within a folder in our repository. Within each folder, there are all the solutions to that challenge made by other candidates in different languages (we refer to this as an internal solution), and another file named OTHERS.lst containing links to solutions to that challenge available on the internet (we refer to this as an external solution). A unique solution means that you uploaded a solution to a challenge in a language that did not have any internal or external solutions. For more details, please refer to Uniqueness.

Average Hour Per Unique Solution

This is one of our most important metrics and shows how long it takes you to upload a unique challenge (in other words, how fast you learn something new). It is the ratio between total-hours/unique solutions. The lower the number, the better.

Initial Commits

This metric shows us how many attempts you had to make before you successfully uploaded your first solution. In other words, it shows us your resilience and tolerance to frustration. Here we are not looking for a specific number, we just want to see how the number evolves over time.
